topic Problem with Artlantis R serilaization in Collaboration with other software

<T>Has anyone here had a problem serializing Artlantis R for the first time on a stand-alone computer? I understand the license has to be inactivated on one installation before it can be activated on a second. My problem is the first installation has failed to serialize. Any sympathizers out there?</T>

Maybe Your firewall did not let Artlantis to connect to the Internet?
(You may have clicked on "always block" or something similar - on the first start of Artlantis? - the option depends on the firewall software You use)
Try either switching the firewall off on the short period of Artlantis serialiation or try to cofigure it to let Artlantis to connect (or its serialization component).

Best Regards,
Hi David,

This discussion really belongs at the Artlantis R forums at http://www.artlantis.com I think?

Yes, only one copy can be active at a time. Initially, no copies are active, so you can serialize any machine. But, you do need a live internet connection to serialize or do remove the license, so as to install it on another machine. This has been the prime complaint about the process on the Artlantis forums ... but personally I haven't found it an inconvenience ... yet.

Piotr's guess of a blocked connection seems the most likely thing if you can't serialize your copy. (Or, it could be a typo ... the "-" sign is part of the license key, so do copy/paste the license code from your registration email.)

Regards,
Of course, I know the Abvent forum but you guys are more fun to talk to.
Abvent informs me that Artlantis cannot be activated on a computer that does not have a network card, even by fax! You heard it here first.
