Can I make sepratete layere for door and windows in archicad

Like walls and column ........ ???

you can make layers for whatever you'd like. ctrl+L for layer options, then hit new layer. you definately don't have to stick to using the default layer settings.

uh..... no.

You can MAKE whatever layer you want.

Doors and windows are not independent items. They are a part of the wall they are placed in. As such, they cannot be assigned layers of their own.

if you want to "hide" doors and windows you can use the display options

And you just can create this layers when you exporting your file to .dwg.
They will be in the .dwg file but not in the ArchCAd one…

Hazem

When you create a dwg from an ArchiCAD file you have many options that you manage in your dwg translator.
You have some for the Layers
You can in this way store:
1— All the doors in a layer —in my example named "Doors"—
2— All the windows in an other —in my example named "Windows"—
3—All the fills in a third

See the Join picture —sorry in french for AC81—
I am sure that the elements are in the same area in international version…
