There are many here willing to help, but we need more information. Please include your version of archicad and platform in your profile as others do. This is important as each version of archicad doesn't always work the same way.

For this specific problem we will also need to know the your engineer's program and its version.

<T>has anyone on the forum used an Archicad model w/ Green Building Studio or Ecotect for energy analysis?? Whatever program my Mechanical engineer is using he is unable to import my model. My building is complex.I am trying to keep them from having to re-make the model. Any experience, info, ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated.
What file-format does this energy-software require when import?

As others have noted, it would help to know what software your engineer is working with. The add-on for the Green Building Studio exports gbXML, which may be sufficient if their software imports it.

Otherwise, you could run your model through the GBS service and re-export the model as a DOE-2 file or EnergyPlus file. There is a reasonable high probability that one of these formats will suit your engineer. To register for the add-on and GBS service, start at <S></S>http://www.greenbuildingstudio.com/default.aspx<E></E>

Ralph thanks for the GBS info....I was not aware that they would provide a DOE2 file form their model analysis. I will look into this.
any news on the energy analysis front and ac v11 or 12?
or anyone out there that can take an ac model and do heat loss / solar gain calcs from an ac model?
i am not having luck getting into autodesk's gbs site, plus site says ac plugin is not available.
