Well, I basically agree with you, because I would like it to select all elements that are generated in the 3D Window.
I would guess this has some technological reason why this was implemented this way.
You can make a wish, if you want.
I would vote for it.

<R>There is a bad bug in the Find tool when selecting objects
in 3D-view -> seems that the tool is zoom dependent and
excludes everything outside the current view.
(Archicad version Mac / FIN1010)

See examples;
Hello Laszlo,

It's a bad bug in my opinion…zooming should not have anything
to do with this dialog box.

There is a separate choice for "Selected area inside/outside"
why not "Zoomed area" then?

hi lászló

it's a huge and horrible bug! editing is also affected in a similar way: if you select a range of windows in your 3D window, zoom in to get a more detailed view, and then try moving them vertically in the wall: <S></S>only the windows that were in the last view get moved<E></E>, not the entire selection!

i recall reporting it back in AC9 beta: i think it actually got fixed for a couple of builds, but then went right back to how it was again. i guess the fix broke something more important. whatever, it's a shocker and needs to be fixed ASAP.

unfortunately, i reported it again quite recently but seems to have been classed as 'not applicable'.
This is a bug, not a feature. Serious bug, being an old one makes things look more sad ArchiCAD 10 wise.

I could live with it if there were an option in Find & Select to "Select only in current view." To make it the only option without any warning is a major problem!!
