Probably true, but I think you must mean a Mac Pro. The G5s are discontinued.

<T>I searched the forums and didn't find.

What is the best possible computer to run ArchiCAD 10 (and beyond), if price was not an object (short of a cray supercomputer of course).

Or - what would be the best componants to put into a self built one?

I know that I can just buy 'the best of everything', but I would be more interested in getting the best combination.

Here at home I run a Dell 9100 Dual-core processor at 2.8ghz and have 1.5 gig of RAM. ArchiCAD loads the libraries slowly, but runs the program pretty well.

What would be the best video card, hard drive(s), processer, memory type and quantity, motherboard, etc, etc, etc...?

Anyone have any ideas?</T>

I'd like to know what graphic card what cpu and how much RAM!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I think, you can get very good results with a new MAC G5. with a lot of RAM, of course. Actually AC10 and 11, can only use a max. of 4Gb.

Otherwise, if you want a "self built PC", i have better experiences with ATI video cards, than Nvidia video cards, get a duoCore, AMD or Intel processor. (i love the AMDs). a good mother board that fits, and a good quality RAM, use all the slots that you can. and a HD of your choice.

that's all i can say...hope it helps.
