Hi,

can univ keyplug of version 8 be used for version 7? When i launched version 7.0 i will be prompted with "protection key error".

Joanna,

You should have received a sheet entitled "Updating your Archicad 7.0 keyplug/dongle to Archicad 8". This gives the proceedure. Step 2 on that sheet says "Go to the AC8 license server at http://upgrade.graphisoft.com. You will need your authorization code, PIN, and registration info. It should work after updating (ours does, anyway). Hope that helps.

Hi Steve,

thanks for the advice. I got the a replaced dongle when purchase the upgrade, the programming of the keyplug was done by the vendor. They told me it is for version 8. It is more like a plug & play kind of thing at my side.

You mentioned about the license server. Do i need to do anything over there? If need, can you tell me how to do it? Not sure about the license server thing.

The ArchiCAD 8 keyplug should work just fine with ArchiCAD 7 also. It works here with no special installation at all. I can even have both of them open at the same time and do a copy/paste between them. Only if you want to run AC 6.5 or 6 you need some installation (it is on your AC 7 disc).

Maybe you need to do a new installation of AC 7?
