With the Logitech 4.40.88 Setpoint drivers on my MX Revolution mouse, the zooming-scrolling problem is less annoying. When zooming, it pans only a little. But before, it was really, really annoying. In my case it still was the problem because of mouse drivers ...

<T>I am having a terrible time with Scroll ZOom on my Logitech Mice since I started using AC10.
Using Logitech Setpoint 2.60 and Driver.
Scrolls and Pans at the same time, bogs down and software freezes while the pan/ zoom battle it out (10- 20 seconds). If I remove the driver works great.
With the driver installed works great in AC9.

Anyone else?

Considering switching to microsoft mouse as scroll-zoom feature is absolutely unusable for me right now.

Thanks</T>

Go into your setpoint config options. You'll have to bear with me. . .it's been a while since I've trugged through the setpoint options. But on one of the pages there should be some settings that allow you to configure the settings of your mouse buttons. With the setpoint software, they usually set the middle mouse to Autoscroll, try changing the Middle Mouse button function to Middle Mouse from the pulldown options. That should fix your dilemna.

Yeah, I've tried that but still the same. If I set that button to zoom function then if I double click scroll button it switches to zoom and then works...

Not the greatest workaround as double clicking w/ my scroll button kinda su@ks.

Dunno. Same results on all my workstations using Logitech and AC10. Windows driver works but the setpoint driver doesn't.

(if I set 2D redraw (user pref schemes-more options) to structural contours only it speeds redraw enough to where zoom / pan battle doesn't slow things down to the unusable point...)
I also had the same trouble with a Logitech mx1000 bluetooth mouse in version 9. (it would zoom and move the screen up at the same time) It would not scroll properly with Setpoint installed but would function fine using the generic windows driver.
Lucky the scroll wheel broke after 2 weeks and I got a full refund
Got an Intellimouse explorer instead and its zooms fine (after I disabled the tilt wheel)

Here is someone who is really disatisfied with Setpoint software.... It's absolutely uncompatible with ArchiCAD (don't know if it's a Logitech or Graphisoft problem....)
Turning Setpoint off everything works smoothly.... perfect pans, perfect zooms,,, but no access to customize the mouse..
With Setpoint active you have a fully customized mouse, but when you make a zoom with the wheel you feel strange (due to some kind of function compatible with Microsoft software to pass one line, 3 lines or the whole page). When you go into the infobox and use the wheel to move it down (as you usually do with 3ds max and other software) then you see the whole view moving at the same time......

My question is simple ¿does nobody in Graphisoft corporation realized this heavy trouble? ¿How many people uses Logitech hardware everyday at home, at the office?

Waiting for an answer....

i've just invested in a logitech bluetooth mouse. no problems on the mac side, but i was in agony trying to use it when i boot into windows. i figured it out yesterday:

open your setpoint software settings and change the scroll wheel button to "other" and then "middle button". next right click the setpoint icon in your notifications bar and choose exit. all will be well in the world . . .
I had the same problem with RaptorGaming & also Genius mice.
AND
It is not a Graphisoft related problem. Same things happen in Revit.
On macs there is a small program named usboverdrive wich acts as an universal driver for usb devices and lets you configure all functions on usb devices.
Is there such a software available for pc?

Second.... I have configured the center button of my mouse as middle button since I started using my MX610 laser mouse..... not only the center button but the side button too. But that kind of malfunction, paning the view when the pointer is in the info box, irregular zooms and all the stuff is always there. It really s...
Never mind. Once you right click and exit the setpoint settings, you loose all custom button functions until you reopen setpoint. Then your back to square one.

And the problem with getting a MS mouse is there is not many custom buttons!

And so the only way I have found so far, is to hold down Ctrl while you zoom with the wheel. Not too bad of a work around, I guess. At least I can keep my "middle button".

i figured that out after i'd posted above: exiting 'setpoint' simply sends you back to the default, plain ol' vanilla generic mouse driver. perfect. now would you windows users kindly point a mac-head in the direction of the startup items settings so i can switch it off altogether. or do i actually have to <S></S>uninstall<E></E> it?!
I have been using MX1000 for over a year now and unfortunately have had to resort to resort to the same fix.

Unfortunately Ctrl is a modifier which means that zooming is slowed down, for more precision I guess.

I have contacted Logitech and asked them why the setpoint software doesn't allow for different settings with different programs, as many gaming device drivers do, their products being promoted as gaming devices. Their response was that at this point they did not have enough demand for such functionality and therefore were not considering it.

Strangely enough I have a Logitech G15 Gaming keyboard, with 18 programmable macro keys, and its software is fully aware of which program I am using and switches the keyboard functions on the fly between programs.

To Graphisoft: If there is a global switch for the mouse scroll wheel that can be turned off within the software, it would be greatly appreciated by many if it was able to be turned on and off within the preferences.

I just bought a new machine for home with Logitech mouse and keyboard using Setpoint software.
I set the scroll wheel to "Middle button" as mentioned in earlier post here (but I didn't turn the software off).

It allowed me to pan/scroll and zoom but at first the zoom would scroll a little at the same time.
But now it seems to be zooming just fine with no extra scroll.

I haven't tested it much as I have only just set the machine up.
I'll check it out again but won't be able to report back here until the week after next.
But, I have switched back to my Logitech G5 as I love the feel of it and it is very light (slides much easier) when you don't put any of the included weights in it. It makes my work easier aside from the scroll zoom thing. I am still using control key to modifie and it does zoom slower then....

I'll check it out again but won't be able to report back here until the week after next.
Sorry, took a while to get back.
Zooming and scrolling work fine in Archicad V8.1 and in the 3D view of V10.
But in V10 2D view the zoom still scrolls at the same time.
I can't make it zoom in to a specific point with the middle scroll wheel.
But the zoom in and out buttons on the side of the mouse work fine.
Just need to remember to use them (old habbits die hard!) and they are in the most user freindly position.
I've got a Logitech Gaming Mouse (nice in every other way, I threw away all the extra weights) that has the opposite problem: it zooms when it shouldn't. When I Pan by cllick-holding the scroll wheel and dragging, it zooms as well. This didn't happen with the Microsoft mouse I used before (may it rest in peace).

This sounds like it's a Graphisoft issue, not a Logitech issue.

So Graphisoft - are you going to look into it? I wonder if you would have the same trouble with Revit?
