Did you install as Administrator or with Administrator privileges?

Is QuickTime up to date?

Were there any errors reported during the install?

Is the protection key snug in a USB port and running?

Djordje is definitely on the right track. There are often problems with Quicktime. I would recommend un-installing Quicktime and re installing to se if that helps. Don't just update it.

Then make sure that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card as well.

HTH.
Cheers.
I also have (had) the same problem (Dell M90/XP Pro/2330 mhz/2GB) and followed the steps below with no success. I went to: <LINK_TEXT text="http://www.archicadwiki.com/TechNotes/A ... on_Startup">http://www.archicadwiki.com/TechNotes/ArchiCAD_10_Crash_on_Startup</LINK_TEXT> to find a solution that worked for me. Unistall program using wxvault.dll. On my computer, this was DELL management software.
Good Luck,
