      <title>Archicad 10 Shuts Down When Opening...Please Help!</title>

      <description>&lt;DIV class="actalk-migrated-content"&gt;Iv been using archicad 10 for 2 years now with no problems whatsoever in installing and running the program, yet after installing the program on a different computer as soon as the program loads up it simply exits completely.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Iv reinstalled the program twice now but to no avail.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or how i can solve this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated..thanks alot.&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>

first off memory and RAM are kinda the same thing - it sounds like you have a 40GB hard disk and 256MB of memory. both of those are very very light for a machine to be running archicad these days - particularly if you have other applications up and running as well.&lt;BR /&gt;

the second thing - as djordje alluded to - is that there could be OS specific issues. so is it mac? windows? and which variety . . . ?&lt;BR /&gt;

does this happen when you are try to open a certain file? is archicad up to date (latest build)? is there a network archicad is looking for? etc...&lt;BR /&gt;

      <description>Oh right...im running it on windows and its on archicad 10...its only a standalone computer so no network access and what happens is that whenever i load up archicad..the program will load normally but as soon as its completely loaded up the screen will just exit...can this be simply down to my RAM or hard disk?</description>

Have you tried reinstalling ArchiCAD to see if that helps. Maybe there was something wrong with the installation?&lt;BR /&gt;
Can you try if this happens on another computer as well or only this one?</description>

You may have 40GB HDDs on both machines but, for sure, the free space available on your C: drive will not be identical on both PCs. Since your RAM is so low, ArchiCAD will try to push things into a page file on your hard disk and, if the available space is insufficient, will be unable to load completely.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Of course it could, as easily, be a faulty installation. Your best bet is to try and reinstall - and make some space on C: drive first, if possible.&lt;BR /&gt;

Actually, I'm really surprised that AC-10 works at all on your other machine. With 256MB, XP alone just crawls! Here are the system requirements according to Graphisoft:&lt;BR /&gt;

Yep the bug report comes up but the result of it is fruitless...iv tried installing archicad again and even installed archicad 11 with the same problem...and i have the same program on exactly the same spec pc but with no problems whatsoever.</description>

If you have two pcs with same specs and AC runs on one but not on the other, then I would some something may be wrong with that pc, maybe one of its hardware components or possibly a system driver problem like graphics card driver?</description>

      <description>Hi, I'm having a similar problem with AC11. Two weeks ago it worked perfectly and now, when I try to open the program I receive a bug report. I sent it and received a code. I contacted my provider who told me that I didn't send anything cus he checked it out (I don't know what that means). So... if you could help me I'd be grateful cus I don't have the time to wait for the provider to figure it out.&lt;BR /&gt;
I'm using Windows XP, Pentium3,2, 1Gb RAM.</description>

The report goes straight to Graphisoft, not your reseller. You should quote the code when talking to him, so that he can follow up.</description>
