I've been having a problem lately (the past week) with being kicked off Archicad while using the program for no apparent reason. The only message i get is that the protection key is not responding. I left my briefcase with my laptop and archicad key in it overnight in my car; it was a extremely cold night. Could it be USB connection port? Any thoughts?

Why is it a mystery that freezing might damage a key?

Bringing electronics of any kind in from the cold can cause electrical shorting if there's moisture in the circuit.
It could be ruined.

Next time, warm up the key and get out any condensation before energizing the circuit.
