If you want to use external DWG files, the XRef option exists.

However, as already suggested, the correct way to do this are the modules.

Am a new user of Archi, I have one question about x-reffing? Does archi have an x-ref feature?

I would like to have a parent drawing (say a 3unit townhouse project). I want to be able to draw the units in their own drawings, and x-ref them into the parent drawing. And if there are any changes needed to be done to the unit drawings, the changes will show up in the parent drawing.

I hope this made sense.

Thanks for any input, and suggestions
Shnail

File Menu > External Content > Here you will find XRef Management in ArchiCAD.

But referring to your description I prefer working with Modules.

See the above link and scroll down for a webex on modules.

My 2¢... just to clarify

xRef = 2D drawing (I prefer "Place Drawing" in most cases - avoids attribute pollution)

Module = 3D+ building assemblies
