Register.bat in the AC-12 program folder merely registers GSShellX32.dll which (among other things) contains a bunch of icons different from the main exe file. My guess is there should be a GSShellX64.dll with AC-13 since it supports 64-bit.

Accordingly, I did a search for GSShellX64.dll and found just this one page. Assuming that it's something to do with 64-bit AC and not some totally unrelated software, it's interesting that it was reported from Australia as early as December last year.

I suppose GS could release a 64-bit version of this dll for x64 users.

Or maybe I'm just barking up the wrong tree? <E>😉</E>

<T>Hi.
I've install Windows 7-64, and, after the installation of ArchiCAD 12, there are no previews of the objects in Windows Explorer. So I go to the folder Graphisoft Shell Extension and execute the 'register.bat', right?
But it doesn't work... what can I do now?</T>

Cristina, are you by any chance getting a quicktime (or some other graphics viewer) icon instead of the preview? It could be that the file association for gsm is incorrect. Have a look at this thread.
No, HTH.
The icon I see is that of AC 12...
And I've verified the association; gsm files are associated with ArchiCAD (ArchiCAD 12... component).

Any other ideas for me?
I don't know how big of a task is to take a version and then test the whole thing on a new operating system.

If I understand you correctly when you're in the library browser or the file explorer you simply see a generic object (chair) icon instead of an image of the object? That is the same as what I see. In the library browser it doesn't even acknowledge the existence of an associated image. The majority of these were PICT files. The others just show a generic jpg icon and not an image.

Now that I think about it the only images that were batch converted were those used by the object and not their "icons" those have to be done individually by opening the library part and placing a new preview image.

That's not exactly my problem. In the library browser I see the images correctly. But in Windows Explorer (maybe what you call file explorer?), I see the icon of AC 12.
I have tons of objects - almost 4GB -, in a 'extra library', And when I look for something without a preview... it's a little bit difficult!
