Dragan, I found the Sound Scheme panel and figured out the same solution you suggested and it worked! Thank you for your helpful response.

<T>For some reason, my installation of AC9 no longer makes the sounds associated with various procedures. i.e.: parameter transfer usually has a beep when you pick up parameters from and element and when you place them in a similar element. My computer is still making all the usual sounds associated with Windows and the other apps...only the AC sounds have gone away. Any suggestions?</T>

The only sound settings on AC9 is on Options/Work Environment/Imaging and Calculation - 3D progress sounds.

I can't remember what other sounds AC9 makes then in 3D window

Just cross over my mind:
Try in Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices

You need to have ArchiCAd group in Sound scheme and any member of the group should have speaker icon before and point to the Sound folder of your AC instalation.

Anyway it is the way to change AC sounds, just point to your own faworite sounds.

The sound that you looking for in particular is ArchiCAD: Default Sound
