<T>we recently upgraded our HP Designjet T790ps 24in to a new post script driver, and now it takes 1hour to print from archicad.

when printing from Autocad its fine, prints come out within 20sec.

The reason we bought a dongle to upgrade our printer was because archicad was printing our text out pixelated.

any help would be great on this matter.</T>

Are you printing directly from Archicad to the printer or are you publishing a PDF and then printing that?
OK, so I would now try publishing as a PDF and then printing that to see if it is faster.
The added advantage to this (if it works) is you have an electronic version of the print that anyone can open, look at and print without having to have Archicad installed.
ok i just tried that and that works fine, the prints come out quick as can be.

the only problem now is the colour. its alot less crisp. maybe ill up the res.

i know im happy with printing from a pdf.

but my other work mates seem to think its a hassle.

is there any good pdf programs you would recommend?

I just set my Publisher sets to "Save As" PDF files using the default built-in PDF convertor.
It is even set to the default resolution or 300 DPI for arcs.

I don't "Print" to an external PDF convertor usually.
But if ever I do then I use any of the free PDF creators that you can find on the internet.
PDFCreator seems to be the one I have installed at the moment.

If you want full control over the PDF creation and editing then you might want to look at Adobe Acrobat Pro - but you will need to pay for it.

If ever I need to add or separate pages in a PDF after creation then I just make a new Publisher Set in Archicad and publish it again.

The only criticism with the built-in PDF convertor that I have is the the file size can be bigger than other external PDF convertors.
But it handles the output from Archicad the best.
External convertors can sometimes have trouble with the % fills and some of the other fills in my experience.
