topic "Not enough memory to render model" More Ram? in Installation & update

<T>Well I've been working on quite a large project for awhile now. I'm getting close to being done, and from the outside it looks completely done. So I decided I'd render an aerial view of it. So it order to make it look a lot nicer, I put several large trees all the way around it so that you wouldn't see as much of the grass in the background. So when I rendered it I got the message "Not enough memory to render model." I have 2GB of DDr3 ram. Would it help to upgrade to 4 or 6gb of ddr3 ram?

Thanks.</T>

Although AC can still only make use of 4GB i would consider upgrading to the max your laptop will allow (4GB for the 15", 8GB on the 17") if it is within your budget .. you should see a very large general system performance increase - particularly if you only have 2GB atm which is really what i would call the bare minimum you need to run anything these days.

Having said that it is still possible that AC will not be able to handle a large 3D model despite you having enough free RAM. Here are a few more Wiki pages on the subject:
Ok thanks for the links.

At although not official, the Macbook Pro 15" can support 6GB of ram. But like you said 4GB is all AC can use.
