Netbooks and/or Tablets

Does anyone here have any experience with Archicad on devices such as netbooks or tablets? Does it even run on processors like Atom or do you have to have a x86 INTEL or AMD processor? Many of those devices I see have Windows Home installed and I'm wondering if Archicad runs on Home edition (I think so but I'm not 100% sure).

I'm thinking about getting an Asus Slate. It has an i5 processor with 4 gigs of ram and Windows Home. It seems to be powerful enough and I like the responsiveness of the screen though I'm not sure how well it would work for AC.

I'm also thinking about getting an Acer Iconia but it has as low powered AMD dual core I think isn't like their full featured processor line. I'm worried that if I got the Iconia that Archicad couldn't run on that processor. I'm not sure if that matters as I would think Windows would handle all the low laying stuff but I'm not too computer savy so I'm unsure.

But I'm also thinking about getting something even lower powered than that. There are several used units for sale locally though different classifieds and I thought about getting one that route in order to see if I like working on such a small computer. Mostly I'm getting sick of sitting in an office grinding out drawings and I'm thinking about getting something really mobile that can run Archicad so I can some work done without lugging a full sized laptop around or having to buy a really expensive "small" laptop just I have something to run AC on (why I'm hesitant in getting a Slate as they are $1000).

And that leaves me with my last question. Has anyone used AC with a touch screen? Does it work? Is there any hidden "you can't do that with a touch screen" actions in AC that kills tablet use including performance issues? If it does work, what should I expect?

I have never tried on a netbook or tablet so can't say how it would run (but I imagine not very well).
I imagine the graphics processor will have a big impact.

But apart from whether it will run or not you will need access to a decent screen with a decent resolution - not something you will be able to do from a netbook or tablet.
My laptop has a 17 inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 900.
That is the minimum that I would want to use Arcicad on for any length of time.

The one post on here that I found relating to this subject was that AC12 ran ok on a Asus EEE netbook that had a 900mhz celeron processor and integrated Intel graphics. I do fairly small projects and I think more than likely a current machine would be adequate for many of the jobs I do.

I've thought about the screen issue too. Most of the units I'm looking at have either an HDMI or VGA output so I can at least hook up one external monitor. There are a couple like the Asus EEE 1215 that has discrete graphics plus and HDMI and VGA port so it should be able to output to two 1920x1200 monitors (which is the setup I use with my laptop).

Plus the Asus EEE 1215 is portable so I can leave the dual 24" monitors and go sit outside in the grass and get work done. But I'm unsure if Archicad can run on the Atom processor. Plus I'm hoping more for a tablet with a docking feature, like the Acer Iconia but it has a AMD C50 processor, or the Asus transformer but only runs Android. Or a tablet like a Lenovo x200 with is a convertible laptop but has WACOM, multitouch and 400 nits outdoor monitor.

Anyways, hope anyone can shed some real world experience. Hate to buy something and find it's completely useless and I have a ~$500 toy.

I hate bumping this but I am really interested in the very least if Archicad will run on an Atom processor or not? Does it have to be an AMD or INTEL x86 processor? I see the specs for AC15 needs a P4 or equal processor but I'm unsure an Atom or other mobile/low-powered processors would fit that citeria.

Unsure why I missed this the last time I searched but for anyone who is interested in this subject the link goes to a thread on the subject about tablets and their use with Archicad. However I was envisioning a touch screen tablet more than a graphic artist style tablet (though a WACOM touch screen tablet would be ideal).

This article says that Atoms are basically like Intel x86 processors:

So that might work.
But I seriously doubt it has the memory size, processor and graphics power required by ArchiCAD.
You would have to try it for yourself.
