Main Box setup at file server: Dell 370 workstation, 3.6ghz Intel EM64T 1mb/800, XP pro, 2 GB 533 DDr2 SDRAM EEC, Dual 19" monitors NVIDIA 3400 256 mb, dual 160 GB SATA 7,200 HD drives Raid 1, 48X cdrw, 16X dvdrw, apc 500, DDS5 Tape Backup
Regular boxes same as main only single SATA 80 GB HD drive.

From your specs listed, this rig should be like grease lightning right outta the box.
What kind of "tweaks" did you have in mind?

didn't know if duall processor was worth the extra grand as can only get ddr2 400 non-ecc ram in dual box vs the 533 EEC ram in single processor box now configured. putting money into card. Am using this setup for the log plugin to archicad 9 & figure nedd to push money into graphic card for better flow in multiple windows

Dual procs will most definitely help when multiple windows or apps are open or if your rendering out a scene with VIZ /MAX.
The P4 3.6/1MB/EM64T should be a beast as well, IMHO not as good as dual Xeons but darn fast in its own right.
