New user with a problem

hello everyone,

my name is kareem , i live in cairo egypt and i am an architect-i have been working with archicad 7 for soooo long and finally i upgraded to archicad 12, it seems like an amazing software as i really enjoyed working with archicad for the past years but i have a little problem.

archicad starts fine but sometime maybe at the begining of the program launch or even sometimes after i work on for a while the floor plan view just dissapears and i see just a brown screen, all the tools bars are in place and seems to be working in the background but i cant see what i am doing,is this a known problem.

my configuration is.

intel core 2 duo e7200 @ 2.53 ghz
nvidia geforce 8400 gs
windows xp professional version 2002 service pack 3
