topic custom linetype creation process in v12 - broken? in Installation & update

<T>in trying to create a fairly basic corrugated line, i've found the process of pasting the 2d linework and getting the scale/spacing correct difficult if not impossible. in comparison, the same process in v11 is straight forward.

can anyone confirm if the process of creating a new linetype in v12 is buggy?</T>
