<T>I'm using ArchiCad 11 (switching to 12 as soon as I have the time). When I'm zooming in or out, the screen has a tendency to randomly jump. Sometimes the cursor just decides to jump over to another part of the screen. Has this happend to anyone before, and what can I do to fix it? I can't work, because when I zoom into a section for detail work, the screen goes somewhere else.</T>

Have you tried a different mouse? maybe the wheel is gummy. Try scrolling with the keyboard and see if that is better. If it's not that, maybe video card.

ps... Best to post your equipment when posting

The mouse isn't gummy, it's an optical mouse. I think it might be the mouse, however. Running ArchiCad 12 on an Apple Mac (new one)

I get this behaviour regularly. When you stop zooming or panning there is often a further movement a few seconds later. Annoying if you are in the middle of inputing values for a move or copy, as it doesn't accept the number and I have to undo and do it all again.

I have had my Mighty Mouse optical wheel be a problem, and cleaning it fixed it. However, I have had another problem, along with others I know, where the curser would arbitrarily jump to the left side of the screen. This stopped for me when I switched to a cordless Mighty Mouse, which says it is a mouse issue to me. However, that was about the same time I went from OS10.4 to 10.5.

Here is a link to clean it, but there are many hits on google for this. I had to take mine apart to clean it ... <LINK_TEXT text="http://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives ... hty-mouse/">http://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives/2007/01/tips-to-easily-clean-your-apple-mighty-mouse/</LINK_TEXT>
