Is it just your keyboard shortcuts that stop working or is it the actual command?
i.e can you right click on something and choose to drag or go to the FILE menu and choose save?

If it is just the keybord shortcuts then try a new keyboard or do you have some other program running that controls them.
If it is the actual command then I would try to re-install.
