I was thinking of the 512M graphics card but if the rumor is true, then 4-core would definitely be worth the wait...

<T>I have a 2007 (first generation alum) Imac with the 2.8Ghz Extreme processor and the ATI Radeon 2600 (256MB).

I am considering selling it and upgrading to the 24" Imac with a 3.06Ghz / NVIDIA 8800 (512MB).

Is it worth the trouble to upgrade?

THX!</T>

I would consider waiting a couple of months if you can, since there is a possibility (rumor only) that 4-core processors may make it into the iMac line later this year... Not sure if you'd see a big jump in performance just from 2.8 to 3.0 alone...?
Unlikely you would notice much difference from the graphics card upgrade alone. The 2600 with 256MB is completely adequate.

Cheers,
