topic Printer Names and mixed Windows versions in Installation & update

<T>We have a Windows 2008 Server, which runs as a printer server. Our ArchiCAD clients work on Windows 7 and Windows XP.

If I configure our network printer via the Server I get on different (Windows) clients different names of the same printer and driver. Not different by chars, but different in cases. E.g.:

Server\minolta 123
server\MINOLTA 123

No problem for Windows itself, but ArchiCAD seems to be case sensitive. If I open a project on different machines I always have to reconfigure publisher sets, because ArchiCAD does not recognize, that the printers are the same. Is there a trick to work around?

Installing printers directly, without the server, is not the way, we want to go, because we haven't installed the server just for fun.</T>
