<T>Hello, I'm waiting for some Apple's hardware update to buy a new computer, now I'm using Archicad on iMac aluminium with 2 giga ram, and I'm really thinking to buy a Mac Pro with 8 giga: does Archicad support so much ram? Has anyone tried it? Thank You!
No, Archicad doesn't.

But, 8 Gigamegs is good overall - you could be doing Photoshop, run the OS, have Artlantis renderings going strong AND run in Archicad without noticing a slowdown. I have 16 Gb and my MacPro never goes much over 12. A waste of capital!!!

If you want to spend money making Archicad go better, get the 512 Mg video card - this will make OpenGL work better.

Thank You... I'll wait for the new iMac: I hope will be 4-core with a good video card, I think it could be the better choice for a computer to change every 2 year...

That is generally a good approach as long as you are not dong renderings in Artlantis all the time......
