<T>Hi all,

Made myself a present for NY and bought 8 GB or RAM. Installed x64 Windows 7 and Archicad 13 x64.

Under any circumstances and working on heaviest of renders Archicad is using no more than 2,7 GB of RAM.

Any ideas why it's not using up to 6-7?

Thanks in advance,

because you don't have a project open that requires that much RAM.
rendering is a CPU intensive task and will only use a little more RAM than normal ArchiCAD use.

basically, for the size of the model you are working on, you don't need all that RAM. however, Windows itself and other applications will be wanting the rest of the RAM, as would other instances of ArchiCAD. Also, as your model gets bigger and you add more views/layouts etc.. it will use more and more memory.

you might not be using it now, but you've got plenty of headroom to expand into.
