Video card looks like a suspect alright.
Do you have at least 512 ram in card?
I found in last computer before I changed it's vid card out, that the old one was overheating. ie not at first but eventually would start doing weird things.
Locking up like your showing.
Temp solution was to clean out all dust and add sm desk top fan aiming at opening grills.

<T>I am trying to find a solution for this issue. See screenshot.

Dialogue boxes and palletes are sometimes staying on and sometimes not appearing and not refreshing

I have tried:
1. Upgrading the graphics card driver using the upgrade driver section in the control panel
2. Changing Advanced redraw options so that 2d hardware acceleration and memory usage are quite high.

Computer specs are:
Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 2, 32 Bit
ArchiCAD 14
ATI FireGL V5200, Just upgraded driver to 8.440.00 from 8.293.00
Intel Quad Core, 3.5Gb RAM

According to the Getting Started guide windows XP is still ok for V14.</T>

Thankyou for your reply. My client has 3.5Gb RAM. I will suggest increasing ventilation round the computer to reduce overheating.

My gut feeling though is that the video card and/or driver need to be upgraded.
