I had a similar problem with the PPC version, then saw that I had renamed the ArchiCAD application from "ArchiCAD" to "ArchiCAD 11". My fix was to reinstall the original from the DVD, then apply the latest hotfix (no need to fool with the earlier hotfixes), this worked fine. He should move the old ArchiCAD 11 folder out of the Applications folder before doing the fresh install, as there may be items there he will want to move into the fresh installation (Add-Ons, etc). My recollection is that renaming the application would cause these types of issues, I probably renamed this one because I thought there would be no more hotfixes to 11.
Works fine here both WIN XP and mactel.
Was 11 the one that had a patch that must be installed in sequence (or something unique)? Perhaps they missed that step?

Thanks all. So far neither of these seem to be the issue. We'll keep digging.
