Pop-up Menus don't pop-up?

On a new install of ArchiCAD15 x64, I can't get the pop up menus to pop-up on buttons like the "Geometry Method" for new straight and curved walls, or the "Relative Construction Method" button.
For example, when creating a straight wall I can't get the pop-up buttons that allow me to pick "single", "chained", Rectangular", or "rotated Rectangular" drawing methods.
I haven't used Archicad in a few years so I'm working on a new blank drawing, not a saved file from a prior version.

Does this persist after restarting ArchiCAD and/or the computer?

I am having the same problem and it persists even when I restart archiCAD and my computer.

Ingi040,

You don't say what version of AC or OS you're using. My guess is that, like Daren, you are on Windows?

I would guess that this could be related to the Windows issue of tooltips not showing when graphics settings are changed from Windows defaults:

See if that helps?

If not, verify that you have the most up-to-date driver for your Graphics/Display adapter.

If you're on a Mac, I cannot imagine what could cause this behavior... should be impossible there.

Dear Archicad Lords please help,

WINDOWS 7
ARCHICAD 16

I am having the same problem. I have re-installed Archicad, I changed the resolution to the one mentioned in the previous post, I restarted the PC on numerous times, and I can't get to make it work.

I am working on multiple complex roofs with gables, and I can't seem to get that pop up menu to work so that the construction method is set to gabled roof.

Any sort of access to menus that pop up where they should (if they have small black arrowheads indicating so on icons) seems not to be an option to me. If I left-click on those said icons nothing happens, if I right-click the help option appears.

Please help. Although its stupid, this is an ongoing problem I have, to which I can't find an answer.

Have you also tried to update the graphics card driver?
That is the first thing I would have tried.
You may also try to turn of 2D Drawing Hardware Acceleration in the Advanced Redraw Options page of the Work Environment Dialog.

Thank you for the quick reply,

I have the latest update for my graphics card driver, but perhaps it is time to change the hardware as well.
The tip on 2D Drawing Hardware Acceleration was quite useful in the sense that I have now access to all menus except the one for the roof. That last one just doesn't want to work. I have since re installed ArchiCad, yet again, and I have done every conceivable step I know of, to fix this. But perhaps, as stated, it is just time to change the hardware of my graphics card.

Funny thing is I have access to every menu on other programs for rendering or photo manipulation, except ArchiCad 16. Perhaps it is also time to save some money for ArchiCad 17.

Hello everybody!
I have installed the Archicad-64 17 (educational version).
My computer uses Windows 8 with with Nvidia graphics card.
The pop-ups don't work and I don't know what to do.

I have reinstalled the program and nothing ...

You have to click and hold the mouse button for half a second or so until the pop-up menu appears.
