Constant Crashes - Student Version of ArchiCAD 14

Hi all,

ArchiCAD consistently crashes out on my computer every half hour. I am working from a MacBook Pro, 2nd generation i believe. Everything is Intel. I downloaded ArchiCAD from the website and installed, didn't have a problem for the first few months. Recently it has been crashing reliably, every time I open the program and work for half an hour. The error message reads, ArchiCAD has quit unexpectedly, and a bug/crash reporter comes up. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice to no avail. This is a pain as eventually I am going to have to do multi-hour renderings for my class, which will be impossible with this bug. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi Nick,

Is it just one particular file that crashes? What happens if you open an empty file and just leave it running for half an hour? Does it still crash?

Are you running the latest graphics card drivers?

It would also be worth checking your machine isn't running out of memory - how much RAM does it have? Is there a memory monitor where you can check how much memory ArchiCAD is using?

Hi Peter, thanks for your response, sorry I took so long getting back. It quits out no matter what file I am running. I don't know too much about hardware, but here are the numbers

2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM

2.2GHz intel Coe 2 Duo

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT

ArchiCAD uses about 8-10 percent of my CPU, I think thats what memory usage.

Thanks so much, any help would be much appreciated. Its getting a little annoying!
