Mouse cursor lag

I'm having a problem on my home computer running ArchiCad (Version 11 & 12). I get cursor lag while working in plan views. My cursor seems to stick or lag while tagging objects and manipulating objects. I can go to 3D views and I have no problem with the cursor movement. Any ideas?

You'll get better replies if you state your computer, ram, graphics card, mouse type if special [especially any strange mouse driver] and any other factors that you might offer.

Do you have a Trace-Reference on?

The cursor has the same problem whether Trace Reference is On or Off.

The following is information on my computer:

Dell Dimension XPS-Gen5
Radeon X850XT Platinum Edition (256 Ram)
Windows XP Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3
Physical Memory 4,096 MB
Hard Dive – NTFS 300 gb

HID-compliant MX518 Optical Mouse
Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\mouhid.sys (5.1.2600.0 (XPClient.010817-1148),
11.88 KB (12,160 bytes), 3/25/2006 4:20 PM)

Logitech-compatible Mouse PS/2
Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\i8042prt.sys (5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108), 51.25 KB (52,480 bytes), 8/4/2004 12:14 AM)

I have tried a different mouse, but the results are the same.

Make sure you don't have "grid snap" activated - this can create an effect similar to cursor lag, and can cause all sorts of issues selecting objects.

I have the same problem whether grid snap is activated or not. I've been a ArchiCad user for over seven years and have never had this problem before.

I haven't used ArchCad on this computer in months. The last time that I remember using it on this computer, months ago, it had the same problem.
