You cannot go wrong with Logitech. I have not tried the Magic Mouse, but I have tried the Mighty Mouse and it was so frustrating (could not temper the speed of the mouse movement, scroll speed, etc. without using a third party program).

Now I regularly use 2 different mice, both from Logitech and I need to adjust nothing. They work plug and play. IMO Apple is great at making computers, iphones, ipads etc. but not so much with the mice. Logitech has it down.

But again, I have not tried the Magic Mouse so it may have improved over the Mighty Mouse. I would test drive them if possible to decide.

the trick for the magic mouse is using Magic Prefs to control Speed, 2 Finger Middle click etc.

In Mac using logitech you cannot go wrong using steermouse (plentycom.jp) instead of logitech's horrible drivers.

That is odd to me because I used Steermouse to try and get the Mighty Mouse to work but I needed no additional pieces of software to get the Logitech mice to work.

Hmmmm. We are having very different experiences, but, then again we are comparing apples to oranges since, once more, I am referring to the Mighty Mouse and have not used the Magic Mouse. It may be a good one. Just posting my experiences.

There is a difference between the Magic Mouse (track surface) and the Mighty Mouse. I never could use the Might Mouse hated it from the start.

Logitech Performance MX

Finally got sick of my nth Apple (Mighty) Mouse scroll ball gunking up and the tracking screwing up on a normal, matt office desktop. Tried the Magic Mouse which has much better tracking but cannot stand its touch surface for CAD, I think long-term extensive use of scrolling really needs some sort of tactile feedback. The Logitech fits my hand perfectly, weight feels great and it tracks on everything i have tried (including my super glossy desktop at home).

Highly recommended
