AC 15, 16 selection is really slow!!

Dear All,
I have a problem with AC 15/16 since I installed them on my machine (DELL T7400 dual quad core + 8GB RAM + Nvidia Quadro FX1700). I kept AC12 and 13 on the same machine.
Working on AC 15/16 selection of objects and entities in the 3D window is really slow specially when I select more item using SHIFT+CLICK. If I click quickly on several items (let's say 10 items in 2 seconds) the last item appears as selected after 3/4 seconds from the last click ...
I installed the latest drivers for the graphic card and I'm using the latest hotfix for both AC15 and 16.
Do some of you face the same problems?
How can I solve this problem?

Hi alemanda,

Do you have any Add-Ons installed? Please try to uninstall the Add-Ons first and check ArchiCAD again.
Can you reproduce the slowness in a new, default project too?
Are ArchiCAD 12 and 13 OK?

Yes, some 3rd party Add-Ons, e.g. Cadimage, Cigraph
You can check all of the installed Add-Ons in the Add-On Manager dialog (Options menu » Add-On Manager)
Please note, that this collection contains the internal and the 3rd party Add-Ons as well.

Ok,
With archicad 13 everything was fine. Multiple selection (shif + click) was almost real time even in big projects.

I have some 3rd party addon installed on AC 15 (Cadimage keynote expired trial, etc.)
I have an addon installed on AC16 (it's the exporter to Artlantis 3).

With the addons installed I have the same slowness even with a new+reset project made of just 20 walls with some openings.

I'm going to unistall all of them and check again.

In another PC (same hardware configuration with the same OS) I get the same behavior, in my laptop also the same.
I tried to unistall the addons but I get the same result.

Thank you for your assistance that helped us to find the source of the slowness in 3D selection. ArchiCAD 15's feature that enables hidden geometry to be visible during the Selection Highlight caused the problem.
To offer a temporary solution in ArchiCAD 16, one of the next Hotfixes will contain a registry key to switch to the selection feedback of the previous versions.

Ok.
The option which causes the problem is very useful for many reason during modelling, and on the other hand it causes a frustrating slowness in the normal operations of editing.
I hope that GS implements the possibility to switch on/off this feature on the fly , like an option in the 3D view settings (and not only with a registry key, which requires to close and start AC again).

AC 14, 15 is really slow!!

Hi, I have a problem with Archicad 14 and 15. I got a new laptop http://www.lenovoonline.cz/ideapad-u410-red-p5080 with Windows 7 - 64 bit and archicad is running very slowly so it is almost impossible to work. I found that disbaling Navigator would help, which did for a while, but it is very slowly again and whats more I need Navigator anyway for my work. Could please help me with this performace issue ? Could it be a low performace of my graphi card or laptop ? Or is it in any setting?

Did GS solve the problem mentioned in this topic with the new Hotfix (even it has been temporary retired)?
Can we expect the problem of slow selection has been correctly addressed?

on AC15 the problem seems not to be solved. Slow selection occurs.
AC16 hotfix for ITA version has not yet released. We wait for it.

The selection is still slowly in not so much complicate models (small building), although the hotfixes both for AC15 and AC16. Very frustrating.

With AC13 selection was fast. Implement an option which disable the transparency in the selection ...

I received a support from GS directly and they found the problem source.
GS, please don't forget to provide the registry key to switch off that funcionality causing the problem!

I'm not sure what you're trying to say ... you complained about the problem today ... and Katalin's note is from last November... so did you contact Cigraph today - your official line of technical support? This thread/topic is NOT a technical support channel and you cannot expect any answers to any issues raised here on ac-talk, although from time to time it does happen.

I faced this issue since I decided to pass to AC15. AC 16 has the same problem. GS knows about this problem since a long time (one year ago). I went through the Italian technical support without result, then I had been contacted by GS to make some other tests and they found the source of the problem.
Now I'm trying to remind them to not forget this frustrating issue.
I thought to go back to AC 13.
Multiple Selection in 3dview (shift+click) in AC16 is a nightmare for me.
I tried also AC 17 and nothing seems to be adjusted. Same issue.
The problem is not my hardware, but the issue is related to the transparency during selection as Katalin said some months ago.
So, GS please help us!
