If the Open and Repair option is not working

Quick check is to open a new AC file and use File->File Special->Merge and select the previous file and choose the model. AC will parse the model and exclude the objects that are causing problems.

After that you can use the Merge command to bring the drawings also.

<T>I've been working with a file for months and it has become increasingly slow to respond, taking up to four minutes for simple tasks. In its final death throes it crashes upon opening and so is entirely useless.
Anyone else experiencing this? Advice?

Thanks</T>

Ok. By the way moved the thread from Hardware to "Working in Archicad" since it is more appropriate.
