I have Archicad 9 at my office and have just purchased a Dell Dimension pc so I can also work at home. I needed to fit a parallel port PCI card as the pc only had USB ports and my key is parallel. When I load Archicad I get the message that the protection key has not been found, I tested the new port with a printer and it is ok. I uninstalled and then installed Archicad again with the key plugged in but it still will not work. Office pc is Windows xp pro, home is xp Home, could this be the problem.
Any suggestions ?

Hi Richard,
XP Home should not be a problem. If you down load the latest WIBU drivers from their web site www.wibu.com
That should do the trick for you.

HTH.
Cheers.
So did this help? I have the very same problem. I have Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition at home. I installed WIBU-KEY software from ArchiCAD 9 installation CD and then went on:
https://upgrade.graphisoft.com
where I got a prompt that it does not recognize WIBU key.
Downloading new driver didn't help neither.
<E>😞</E>

Install ArchiCAD WITHOUT the key plugged in.

When all the install is finished, restart the computer. Then plug the key in. XP will recognize the new hardware, and offer automatic install. Accept it.
The installation should go easily.

THEN start ArchiCAD.

It should work.
