Mac Specification Query - Archicad 21

Dear All,

I would be grateful if you could advice on the hardware that I am using to run Archicad 21 on my Mac. We are working on medium sized projects of relative complexity, both worksharing and solo.

The specs of my Mac are as follows:

iMac (21.5 inch, 2017)
Processor - 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory - 8GB 2133 MHz DDR4
Graphics - Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MB

Needless to say the computer is running slow but I would appreciate any input, comment and advice as to what the recommended specification should be for the work we are carrying out.

Hana,
At a start you need more RAM, 8Gb is not enough 16Gb as a minimum 32Gb preferred.

The integrated graphics is also slowing you down but there is nothing you can you about that in an iMac other than buy a new one.

Storage is another area which will improve your experience, remove the mechanical hard drives and replace with SSD.

I would add to what Scott said: i7 processor.

Not something you can upgrade, but what you should really have.
