It could also be that some software pre-installed with Windows by the hardware vendor is blocking access to some folders the ARCHICAD installation wants to access. In your case you should look at programs installed by HP.

My Archicad 19 installation gives me the following error message:

Installation cannot be started. Please check the installation files.

I've tried to disable AVG antivirus and reinstalled java but that did not solve the problem.

Does anyone know a fix for this problem?

I'm running windows 10 on a Lenovo Y510P laptop
16GB ram
Core i7 4700MQ
NVIDIA GeForce GT 775M SLI

Sometimes there is a download error. You can try downloading the file again and see if that works.
Also make sure you have administrator rights when installing ARCHICAD.

I've been running Java 8 update 40 in order to maintain backward compatibility with detail markers originally placed in .pln files started in 17 or earlier.

I installed the update and I thought I was in the same boat as Mskov with the latest 5005 update. But the ArchiCAD splash screen came up after about 5 minutes. And then the clue - a Java prompt. I installed the latest Java and rebooted. Now it works as normal.

Hello. New here.

I just got my archicad 19 licence and I have the exact same error. Does someone have a solution for this?

I have tried:

Redownloading
Updating java(also using a older version of java, JRE 8 build 45)
Disabling firewall/antivirus
"Run as administrator"
Windows is updated to the latest.

Extra info:
Fresh windows 10 install
PC is a HP zbook 17 G2

Any ideas?
