Okay I figured out a way of doing it in 3D, set the view Axonometry -> 3d navigation extras | select Look to perpendicular surface click.
Then I'm in an elevation 3d view. Adjust the sun to where I want the shadows.

<R>Hi,
Just wondering what is the best way to speed up vectorial shadows in elevation ? I like to move the sun around finding the best angle but its taking way to long, 20 to 30 secs or longer, my patients is wearing thin
Is it processed on the CPU or GPU ?

Archicad 18 windows</R>

Vectorial shadows are slow!

Use 3D window with Open GL shading for design and options studies or else turn off / simplify model elements if you must work in elevation view.

Regards,
