Don't forget you can use the measure tool.
Or you can just start drawing a line and look at the tracker values.
Or place a user origin where you want to measure from and then just read the co-ordinates in the co-ordinate palette.

This is a known problem that will hopefully be fixed in a future update (6***).

See this post but read on a little.

<LINK_TEXT text="viewtopic.php?f=13&t=72439&hilit=dimens ... le#p324110">https://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=72439&hilit=dimension%2A+profile#p324110</LINK_TEXT>

I assume you are using the dimension as a check/guide only in the profile manager pre-view, as dimensions (& text) in complex profiles have no use for anything else.
I think they used to delete when you saved the profile anyway (not sure if that is still the case).
I have used them in the past and exploded them into lines/fills/text so they don't delete and remain as info in the profile manager pre-view.

But of course you can't explode them if it crashes when you add them.

Barry thanks for your answer!
Sometimes I need to check distance from a point to another so I‘ve tried to add a dimension, but it’s impossibile because AC24 crash immediately. I hope this bug will fixed soon. Have a nice day
