Have you tried running it in windows xp compatability mode?

Other than that, it could be an issue with the driver for GPU, which won't be hardware that was around in 2007/2008 I would say.

<T>Hey there,
Not getting into the details, but we recently bought a laptop that has Windows 8 preinstalled, and since the office still works with Archicad 11 we had to install it as well. The problem is that the plan view of the objects, in the Library tab, is blank. The section, perspective view etc is normal, but in plan you cannot see the object. And by plan view, I mean the object representation in the small display window from the library features where you can set the preferences for the object.
As a first step I reinstalled an older version of quicktime, as well as the NET framework 3.5. It still doesn't work. Any ideas?</T>

Here is the official Windows 8 compatibility page of the Graphisoft Help Center:

<LINK_TEXT text="http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/techno ... windows-8/">http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/technotes/operating-systems/compatibility-notes-to-archicad-on-windows-8/</LINK_TEXT>

It seems that the oldest version officially supported on Windows 8 was AC16.
AC11 came out several years before Windows 8 so it is absolutely possible that they are not compatible since Windows 8 changed so much relative to earlier Windows versions.

If you can't make it work in compatibility mode, you might want to consider taking a look at ArchiCAD 19 that is about to be released. In the last 8 versions there have been some tremendous advances made to the program so upgrading would very well worth the cost and time expended.

Have you applied the latest hotfix to AC11? I remember this was a bug that was later fixed.
