V10 protection key

hi, when i try to run archicad v10 (new installation) i get 'Protection key not found or not valid (1050505) message on my pc.
when i went to uppgrade.graphisoft (with key plugged in) i got the message:'some driver have to be updated. please download the missing.... (?!). when i click the download button i get taken to the WIBU driver download page, i select windows 34 bit & it downloads but then when i try to run archicad 10 again i get the same 'Protection key not found or not valid (1050505) error message!
when i try to upgrade via safari (on my mac) i get the message: 'you can only use one instance' close this window.
this is very frustrating.

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but have you installed the driver?

yes, my v9 still runs normally, but v10 won't...

Once the WIBU driver is installed, you need to return to the update/graphisoft website to update your key.

yes, i go there and get linked to the download page as i describe below, i download and install, i go back to upgrade.graphisoft and get a message that the wibu is missing, then i get linked to the download page as i describe below so i download and install, i go back to upgrade.graphisoft and get a message that the wibu is missing... it just goes round and round. v10 will not start up...
is anyone at graphisoft not reading this who can give me advice?

I would not expect a response from Graphisoft on this forum (not in a timely manner, anyway). The only other thing I can suggest is trying to plug the key into a different USB port.

i tried moving the usb with no effect unfortunately
oh well, i'll do another search or un-install and re-run v10 installation
who know's... but it's now past midnight my side of the world so i'll leave it for tomorrow.

I might be stating the obvious too, but did you remove the key before starting your AC10 installation? If you uninstall and redo it, make sure the key is removed.

You are using Safari or Internet Explorer, right?

The update site will not work correctly with anything else, AFAIK.

i'm using explorer on my pc
have re-installed v10 as well but still only get: 'download missing components' (wibu) or 'install archicad 10' when i visit upgrade.graphisoft.com (with wibu key in usb)...

OK.

Unplug the dongle.

Uninstall 10.

Reinstall 10.

Restart.

Plug the dongle in; XP will find it, choose Automatic configuration.

Go to the upgrade site.

Alternative:

Unistall 10.

Reinstall 9 - or only the dongle drivers if you know how.

Go to the upgrade site.

Upgrade the dongle.

Install 10.

It should work.

this time it worked hoora!
it did not want to install in the (v9) Graphisoft folder so i had to create a new folder for v10 first, so it probably did not install correctly the first time round...
