Upgrade Hardware Key on Windows 10 Server

Is it ok to upgrade my hardware key on my Mac and then plug it into our Windows 10 Server to use with the BIMServer software?

I've tried to update the Hardware Key on the Windows Server but the License Manager software can not see it yet on my Mac the LMS works fine.

You should be able to update your key on any machine that has the license manager software.
Once updated it will be fine to use on any machine.

Maybe your Windows 10 server just needs an update for the license manager software?
I would have thought that if LM can't see the key on that machine then your BIM server software will have the same problem.
Or maybe there is a problem with the USB port?

I downloaded the latest LM software from Graphisoft restarted the server and ran the software.

All the client workstations can access the hardware key. I have another hardware key which updated fine on my Mac so I hoped I could do the server hardware key on my mac and then plug it into the server

The keys are cross platform compatible so there shouldn't be a problem.
I have updated a key on a Windows machine and used it on a Mac.
I have also updated network keys on a PC and used them on a windows server, but I have never used BIMServer.

I am just not sure why the license manager is not working on your server unless you are saying that after the upgrade it is working now.

That worked fine upgrading the Key on my Mac and then fitting it to the Windows Server. So thank you for that.

I've no idea why the Windows machine could not "see" the Hardware Key but the Mac didn't have any trouble at all.

Now I'm off to transfer a Project from 20 to 21
