You should receive an email with the serial number and when installing AC select "Have serial Number"…

If you installed a 30 day version demo I don't think it is possible.

In order to activate the educational license, you need to follow this link myarchicad (and find out the serial number). Then go to Archicad and when the window appears, select activate Archicad with the trial/education serial number. There you can enter your individual serial number and specify the user ID.
