Our office is willing to buy Piranesi 3.5. I've found out that direct export from Archicad 8.1 to Piranesi is only available in R2/3 version. (sure, one can downgrade and save projects in 6.5 with installed plugins, but that's just too much fuss) We've got R1. What is the difference and how can we acquire R3? When is polish R1->R2/3 upgrade going to be available?

Update?

I'm using ArchiCAD 8.0 r1. I'd like to use a "Sketch-Up" plug-in that requires r2 or higher. Is going from r1 to r2 a download, or a paid upgrade? I'm not familar with Graphisoft's releases. Could someone refer to some documentation so that I could learn more. Is there a subscription program, what is the time line between releases, how are updates distributed, etc.

Thank you!

Jason "it's all very new to me" Kipfer

Hey Jason

It's free. Just click on the Support link up there ^. Go to ArchiCAD and follow the directions. If you're using the US version, just go straight to http://tr.graphisoftus.com/.

Good luck and I hope all is well in Bermuda! Wish I could have made it over there! I still do!!

Cheers,
So for my 8.0 r1 version, I can download the latest patch (AC81-R2-2256-INT.zip) and apply it? So all the patches are cumulative, and I don't have to apply any earlier patches-is that how it works?

Thanks,
No, the latest patch is for 8.1, which is also a free upgrade from your distributor.

So:

1. Call whomever you got the 8.0 from, and as a licensed user you get 8.1 - heartily recommended!

2. Apply any 8.1 patches as required.

Link posted the links to the Graphisoft update patches page(s). Find your patch there! National versions are marked separately.\
