Could be that CPU overheats and computer just hangs up ? I would check temperatures for CPU during renderings.

Whenever I am performing rendering, it hangs. Ctrl alt delete cannot work at all. I have to press the power button to illegally shut down my laptop. I am scared of using this software.

How big is your model? What are your machine specs?

Rendering with ArchiCAD uses your processor so you may have hangs if it's a week processor.

I assume you aren't trying to do anything else while it renders?

Your computer "hanging" while CPU rendering is not that unusual, especially on low spec machines, as the renderer will use all available RAM till it completes, and if you don't have enough RAM, it'll use your harddrive space.

Have you tried rendering a smaller portion of your scene, or with lower settings?
