AC28 Library Update Migration

Hi GS,

Has the migration between library updates been fixed, or do I need to make sure that I updated everyone's libraries at once?

For Library Update 1 a few objects did not migrate between library versions resulting in missing objects when loading models on different computers. The two that I noticed were Pocket Door and Sliding Door. Have yet to get that far along in a project in AC28 so there may have been other impacted objects.

@Magdolna Marosvari assured us there would be no migration issues with 28 going forward.

Migration is supposed to be automatic, just update the libraries (using the downloaded installer).

My understanding is that all objects will migrate or become 'obsolete' but still be usable.

There should be no missing objects.

Also @Magdolna Marosvari, are the library updates like the Archicad updates, where only the latest update needs to be applied?

Or do they all have to be applied in order?

I just loaded the original library.

Placed a pocket door and a sliding door.

Then I removed the original libraries and loaded the latest update 2 libraries.

No missing objects.

I then loaded update 1 library and the doors are missing.

So make sure you have update 2.

So still the same issue. Explains why I did not notice it but a collegue did. I will find the time to do it at some point.

Yes, if you update with an installer there will be no missing objects.

Also, you are correct, library updates contain each other. So it is enough to update to Library Update 2 to get Library Update 1 and 2 at the same time.

Are there multiple participants working on the same project? If yes, then everyone should do the same library udate.

Yes, I installed update 1 with the installer.

And the sliding door and pocket door (the only ones I tested) were definitely missing.

Applied to update 2 and all was good again.
