I tried open & repair but was not offered to open with one tab, it prompted me to 'save as…' but it still crashed during opening.

The problem seems to be some combination of macOS 26.4 and some error dialog that fails to materialize during startup.

The file works on macOS 15.7 so my next move is to do some trimming on another machine. I'll report back.

Anders

After updating macOS from Tahoe 26.3 to 26.4, ArchiCAD 28 crash when trying to open a specific .pln-file. I´m not technical enough to decipher the crash log but it seems to be related to one of the open tabs I the project. It gets through most of the process, and just when it seems to be done it crashes.

Is there a way to open a project without restoring all tabs from the last session, to see if I can identify the problem?

There seems to be other problems related to macOS Tahoe 26.4 specifically.

--

I´m on a MacBook Pro M3 Max with no other issues.

Have you tried opening the file with the 'Open & Repair' option?

You must do this by opening Archicad first then through the FILE menu > Open > Open.

If many tabs are open as you open the file, you will be prompted to open with just one tab open.

But if you are not prompted with this option, I don't know of a way to force it.

Otherwise take note of the crash report number, send the crash report off and then contact your local Archicad support and ask them to investigate it.

As mentioned in my response above: I was able to open the file on an older system, I cleaned up open views and tabs as well as some library's no longer in use. I saved it as a new solo project and now it opens on macOS 26.4 with no errors. Not a solution to the apparent bug but an acceptable work around.
