First you mentioned you had the full version and not studio. So that means you should be able to edit MEP elements.

The other thing I can think of is that you originally said you upgraded from AC28 to AC29 INT, Did you perhaps change Language version from 28 to 29? not that it would matter for the MEP workenvironment profile, it should still be available on all Language versions of AC29 Full (although there was a year that in the USA version both the MEP & Structural WE's were excluded for some reason).

But with regards to the library parts not loading correctly, if you are still using the monolith library and you switched language versions I can see how you may get missing library parts.

I'd reach out to your local techsupport, because based on what you are describing it should work.

Do you have a Archicad Studio licence?

If you do, then that might be it. Archicad Studio does not have MEP features.

If you do use MEP stuff, you would need Archicad Collaborate.

You can read the FAQ here at the bottom of the page.

What are the key limitations of Archicad Studio?

No cloud-based collaboration solutions like BIMcloud SaaS.

No access to cloud-based tools except AI Visualizer.

No MEP feature set. Archicad users have the opportunity to try out this feature that is part of Archicad Collaborate.

The International (INT) language version is not included in the package; it is only in local languages.

No sadly its the full version. I've done a repair install but no luck. Now whats "nippin ma heid" are a chunk of the MEP Library objects are not loading as they were modelled in AC28 but with the current libaries plus migration libaries loaded the dreaded black dots everywhere. So I'm going to extract them from the AC28 MEP LCF file and see if that sorts it.

I've decided to go back to ArchiCAD 28 as AC29 the ductwork is "locked" even although it isn't actually locked either with the Edit menu command or on a locked Layer so I can't correct some of the ductwork.

In addition the very thing AC29 is supposed to do which is to show the ductwork in "Schematic" display isn't working either.

Finally the fact I've no MEP Work Envrionment so no access to the MEP tools and toolbars makes it impossible to use.

Very annoying 😞

Thanks for your suggestions. I upgraded from AC28 INT to AC 29 INT. The actual Library objects which were modelled in AC28INT are displaying but I'm not sure if in AC29 they are using the correct Library and or have been updated to AC29 versions. I've reopened the file and did "Library Migration". It firstly said it couldn't find the "Monolith" Library but I've added it manually.

In AC29INT when I switch to a Model View Option using "symbolic" nothing happens I can see the outlines and the centreline of the duct. Whereas in the MEP Demonstration Model it does work but in both my Model and the Demo Model the objects are weirdly locked even although the layer isn't locked and I've done the Edit/Unlock command.

As you say I will take it up with the local ArchiCAD Tech people to see if I can get it sorted.
Thanks again
