It's a Windows setting, not an AC one.  If you're on XP with 8 and above, then in Detail or Tile view of Explorer, you'll see "Project" vs "Project Backup" with each file.  But, if you want to see the extension, in Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, View, and clear the check box for "Hide extensions for known file types".&lt;BR /&gt;
