ArchiCAD 9 font handling bug in OSX

Hi,

I have found a bug in Archicad 9/Plotmaker 9 font handling routines. Some fonts will cause the programme to go into a loop/hang at launch as listed below. The offending font may be in either the Classic Fonts folder or in the OSX fonts folder, the error is the same.

No other applications are affected in this way by the fonts which cause ArchiCAD 9 to hang.

Below is a copy of the hung loop generated by ArchiCAD 9 sampled using the Activity monitor. It may be of some help to Graphisoft.

The problem occurs on all 3 of our Dual 2Ghz G5s and on our G4 MDD Dual 1 Ghz OS10.3.4 and 10.3.5

Hi,

I have got around the problem using Fontographer 4.1 (classic) - which was given away free on some cover disks years ago.

I opened the problem font in Fontographer, saved it out as a Fontographer “Fog” font file, and then exported it again as a Mac TrueType font suitcase file.

This new font file appears identical to the original but it works with ArchiCAD 9!
