Oh look at the cute little screen! Do you have an optometry course at your college? If you buy this you may need to get friendly with the students there!

You'd surely need a bigger screen. The bigger the better. Maybe not this BIG but definitely more than 14".
You might want to compare the HP Pavilion dv8000 series.

This is what I have and am very happy with it (except the ; key is where the ' key should be!!). When Ben visited with his macbook pro they compared quite similarly. It;s always a tough decision...

<R>Hello there, everyone.

I'm looking for a new laptop, and wish to run AC10, piranesi etc on it, and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good model. I used to have a mac but it died on me. So unfortunately i'll have to move over to a windoze machine as a macbook pro is out of my price range (student) especially if i upgrade it to a decent level of ram. I looked at the macbook and like it very much but i'm assuming the integrated graphics of the macbook is unsuitable for AC10 and apps like C4D, to run properly on. If anyone has a macbook have you been able to comfortably use it. Especially the 2.0 ghz and 2gb setup, perhaps with the universal binery AC10.

I've been looking at a zepto machine as it comes with a 512mb GeForce 7600 card.

<LINK_TEXT text="http://uk.zepto.com/Default.aspx?page=N ...
Too bad you can't swing the MacBook Pro. IMHO it's the finest laptop ever built (until the next one comes out). I have heard of people happily using the MacBook with ArchiCAD though I don't know any personally. There must be someone here on the forum who has on by now. I would also like to hear how the OpenGL performance is.

Thats what i'd really like to know aswell, as the macbook appears to perform well, even against the mighty macbook pro, on some applications

<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.creativemac.com/articles/vie ... p?id=45392">http://www.creativemac.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=45392</LINK_TEXT>

Just i expect its OpenGL performance to be way down.
